At a time when many businesses are just starting to think about sustainable development, the company
NOVAFLOOR® of France has been at it since 1995.
A pioneer in its sector, the firm offers concrete solutions to improve the life cycle of its PVC products and to reduce their environmental impact by optimising resources. The choice of materials, the means of fabrication, distribution and use are strategic to give the company’s products a second life.
“Our goal is to create a virtuous circle that gives value to used materials like PVC in a range of ecological products that consumers, builders and industries can use,” says Fawaz Kazma, president of NOVAFLOOR®.
With this operating principle in mind, the concept of Plak2Plak was developed. It consists of producing recycled PVC tiles, floor coverings and panels from its own end-of-life PVC NOVAFLOOR® products.
“It’s a global industrial strategy to create a sustainable value chain by offering a recovery system for used plates, and reintroducing them in a new production cycle. No waste, just products,” Fawaz says. “They’re 100% recycled. So it’s a plus for the economy while saving energy and natural resources.”
The French company makes composite materials from complex recycled products. The firm’s concept is based on a pro-active recycling process involving discarded PVC pipes, windows and other objects obtained from renovation projects, construction sites and demolitions.
NOVAPLAQUE® is a universal PVC plate with high mechanical resistance, particularly adapted for use in construction. Rot-resistant, it is compatible in all types of damp areas and is rigid enough to replace several construction materials.
Through thermoforming, the tiles and floor coverings can acquire the aspect of other materials widely used in construction – wood, stone, or plaster. They can then be used alone or in panel composites for insulation or soundproofing. Not to mention all the shapes you can make with them.
What’s the edge NOVAPLAQUE® has over others?
“Excellent resistance to wear and tear,” says Fawaz. “It resists rough weather without any protection. No maintenance nor upkeep during its life. And no chemical variation below 60 degrees Centigrade.”
If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. And leave it to NOVAPLAQUE® !
