Pipelife International Battling Electrosmog with PVC Shielding
They call it electrosmog: an electromagnetic field that can wreak havoc on your computer, sensitive equipment, even your own health. And no wonder: it comes from the electrical cables twisting and turning all over your home and office. That got Pipelife International thinking.
“Of course some sophisticated electronic devices can reduce this phenomenon, but we have developed a much simpler and cheaper solution,’’ says Cor Slooff of Austrian-based Pipelife International.
“Ordinary plastics such as regular PVC don't provide the necessary protection,’’ Cor explains. “But using S-PVC, which is highly compatible with conductive additives, it is possible to produce pipes capable of shielding these aggressive electro-magnetic fields.’’
These electric conduits can be either stiff or corrugated to fit different kinds of cables and they can be used for a large variety of applications and designs in all types of buildings, says Cor.
Pipelife protection can :
- Contribute to the general health of people in buildings.
- Provide extra protection where data cables and power cables are in close proximity.
- Prevent disruption of sensitive equipment in hospitals.
As if noise, air and visual pollution weren’t enough, add electrosmog to the list. At least Pipelife International can help you fight the threat you can’t see.
